# Emotional Chat Engine

While chatbots and LLMs are becoming increasingly popular, many often lack emotional depth, resulting in conversations that can feel stiff or one-dimensional. Xterio's ultimate goal is to create a more humane AI agent - an adaptive, intuitive companion capable of supporting users along every aspect of their journey. To this end, Xterio is developing a chat engine with deeper emotional intelligence.&#x20;

Developed in partnership with Reka, Xterio's conversational chat engine was first introduced to users during the “Meet Your Anima” event in April 2024. In this event, users were prompted to engage in conversations around emotions such as love, anger, and sadness. The experience sparked vibrant community discussions, with many participants sharing how the event provided a rare opportunity to express their feelings—something they seldom experience in their "real Web2 world."

The April demo represented an early taste of the engine's capabilities. Since then, the model has undergone significant advancements, and Xterio plans to continue evolving the engine to recognize and respond to human emotions more effectively.&#x20;

This emotional engine has evolved into Befriend AI and its beta was launched in December 2024, attracting millions of users to use. Users converse with more than 28 robots and settings during the beta and was the #1 Dapp on DappRadar during its beta test with over $7M users and 38.2M transactions.

Xterio's vision includes augmenting the model with "eyes and ears" to perceive what users see and hear, enabling it to build deeper, more empathetic relationships. Imagine an AI agent capable of offering encouragement, supporting in difficult moments, and offering true companionship.

Beyond gaming, the engine has potential use cases in other fields such as education and psychology, where it could help foster understanding, emotional connection, and support.<br>
